What is a Celibate?

A celibate is someone who abstains from sexual relations and marriage. An example would be a nun. 

Are There Celibates in The Bible?

We do seem to find an example of a celibate in the Bible, this being Paul. "I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I," (1 Corinthians 1:8 KJV). This verse seems to imply that Paul is a celibate.
