Is Jesus an Anarchist?
What is an Anarchist?
An anarchist—a word derived from the Greek word "ἄναρχος" or "anarchos"— is a person who believes that government is both useless and normally harmful.
Is Jesus an Anarchist?
Jesus very clearly was no anarchist, in fact, he was practically the opposite. He was called the king of kings. "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords," (Revelations 19:13-16 KJV). Jesus is called the king of kings, a type of authority.
Jesus even allows taxes. "And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him," (Mark 12:17 KJV). Jesus tells them to give Caesar what is his(taxes) and to give God what is his(you, your being). If Jesus was an anarchist, he would not have allowed this taxation, or at the very least, promote it.
