Where Did Legion Not Want to be Sent?

In Mark 5 and Luke 8, the demons called "Legion" begged Jesus not to be sent away. Mark notes Legion begged not to be sent out of the country while Luke notes it was the abyss.

Mark 5:9-10

"And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country" (Mark 5:9-10 NASB1995).

Luke 8:30-31

"And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”; for many demons had entered him. They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss" (Luke 8:30-31 NASB1995).

To answer this supposed contradiction, it must be noted that both could have occurred. There is no reason to assume the demons did not request to be sent to either location. Rather than contradicting one another, these accounts complement one another.
