Who Buried Jesus?

Who Buried Jesus?

In Matthew 27, Mark 15, and Luke 23, it states that Joseph buried Jesus. In John 19, it states that Nicodemus and Joseph buried Jesus.

"When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away," (Matthew 27:57-60 NASB1995).

"After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body. Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight. ... Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. Therefore because of the Jewish day of preparation, since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there," (John 19:38-39; 41-42 NASB1995).

To reconcile these passages, we can merely note that John may have decided to not mention Nicodemus. It is not contradictory to neglect to mention an event. For example, let us say I went to a concert. If I tell one of my friends, "It was amazing to meet my favorite singer Mc. Sings a lot", then tell another friend, "It was so nice to hang out with my father at the concert" I never did contradict myself. I did not tell my friends every person I met, but there is no contradiction as both events happened. The same is so with the prior accounts.
