Did God Approve Solomon's Many Wives?

Did God Approve Solomon's Many Wives?

Some people who support bigamy will bring up the fact that Solomon had many wives(1 Kings 11:3), so why can't I? Why was Solomon the exception? Well, very simply, he wasn't the exception. He did it anyway even though God said otherwise. We see in the book of Deuteronomy, "and he shall not acquire many wives for himself, so that his heart does not turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself" (Deuteronomy 17:17). As we know, Solomon existed in the time of the old testament so the law of the Torah would be in act(Deuteronomy is in the Torah).

The Bible never calls Solomon sinless, and in fact, he sins throughout his time in the Bible. Just because someone does something doesn't mean God supports it. There are thieves mentioned in the Bible, does that mean God also supports thieves?
