Did The Council of Nicaea Decide The Canon

Did The Council of Nicaea Decide The Biblical Canon?

A common claim against Christianity is that during the council of Nicaea, the canon of the Bible was made; during so, people claim books were removed and changed to fit their narrative.  Today, we will be debunking many of these claims.

First of all, the canon of the Bible was not discussed at all in the meeting. The meeting was called over the Arian heresy causing conflict with Trinitarians, not canonical issues.  In a report from Athanasius of Alexandria called De Decretis, he spoke in great lengths over the Arian heresy, but that is about it. Never does he mention anything on the canon. You can read most of the letter below for free, however, to read the full report it costs some money. We don't own the document, just it was one of the only things I could find that was Ad-free and could be embedded. If you don't mind Ads, a simple Google search will show many documents with the entire version.

There is absolultly no evidence the canon was altered or established during this meeting
