What Are the Five Crowns?

In the new testament of the bible, there are five heavenly crowns mentioned. The five crowns are awarded to Christians. The original Greek word was "stephanos" or "Στέφανος" meaning a badge of royalty. For every crown awarded, that person will gain more rewards in heaven.

The Imperishable Crown 

The Imperishable Crown or sometimes referred to as the Incorruptible Crown is earned by those who put down their flesh. This meaning that the person fights temptation and does not fall into it.

The Crown of Rejoicing

 The Crown of Rejoicing, also known as the Crown of Exultation, or Crown of Auxiliary, is given to people who spread the gospel.

The Crown of Glory

The Crown of Glory is given to those who set a good example.

The Crown of Life 

The crown of life is rewarded to "those who persevere under trials." What does this mean though? It means that those who keep with their faith, even during times of persecution or hardships, will gain this crown.

 The Crown of Righteousness

The crown of righteousness is given to those who love and anticipate (to expect) Jesus' second coming.
